Maldives Police Service has displaying the service number of the police officers on their uniforms.
Commissioner of Police Mohammed Hameedh tweeted announcing the decision stating that, it will ensure accountability of police officers. A service number is a unique number given to each police officer. This will help the public to report about police officers.
Speaking at the ceremony held to mark the 86th anniversary of Maldives Police Service, President Ibrahim Solih said that Maldives Police Service has improved the most in the past few months.
