We will not hesitate to clamp down on anyone trying to destroy the economy- Security forces
Security Forces of the Maldives, Maldives Police Service and the Maldivian National Defence Force has stated that they will not hesitate to clamp down on anyone or group who tries to destroy the economy of the nation by any means.

The security forces stated that they will not give anyone the opportunity to cause unrest and cause damage to the economy.

They stated that it is their responsibility to provide safety to all the tourists visiting Maldives since the economy of the Maldives relies mostly on the tourism industry.

“It is our duty to provide assurance of safety to visitors visiting this country to do business, to invest, to hold celebrations and meetings and other activities,” they stated.

Furthermore, the security forces noted that Maldives is known for its natural beauty and the kind hospitality of the people.

Meanwhile, Maldives Police Service appealed the public not to create unrest during the New Year show titled ‘Tourist Arrival Countdown’ for New Year and to celebrate the amount of tourists that visited Maldives as of such that might spark a panic frenzy among the people at the show as this is being held as a social event.

International reggae icon, Sean Paul has been invited by the Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adheeb to perform in the show.
