Government has submitted a bill to the parliament to form a transitional justice commission.
The bill was submitted to the parliament by MP Imthiyaz Fahmy. The purpose of the bill is to ensure justice for people who were treated unjustly.
The bill states that the purpose of the bill is to ensure that justice exists and to develop a civilized state. In addition, the bill aims to investigate systematic injustices against the people.
Some authorities given to the commission includes, summoning people for questioning and getting the help of other authorities in investigations.
The commission will only investigate cases that happened between 1st February 2012 and 17th November 2018.
