Jumhooree Party’s Secretary General Ahmed Sameer has said that the Jumhooree Party candidate will run in the by-election of Baa Atoll Dhonfanu Council to be held on January 31st.
Sameer said that the candidate who will be running in the Baa Atoll Dhonfanu Council’s by-election will be Ahmed Ahsan from Aaval, Baa Atoll Dhonfanu.
He said that the Jumhooree Party has informed the Elections Commission by writing that Ahmed Ahsan will be running in the by-election on behalf of the Jumhooree Party.
Sameer said that Ahsan is a well respected person with a huge support from the island. He said that delegates from the Jumhooree Party recently visited Dhonfanu.
He said that he believes that the visit of the delegates of the Jumhooree Party to the island has been very successful.
Sameer said that although Jumhooree Party’s activities are not many these days the party has been closely monitoring the developments in Maldives.
