At the Twenty Ninth Sitting of the Third Session of the People’s Majlis held today, the Bill on Extradition, tabled on behalf of the Government by Mohamed Musthafa, MP for Thimarafushi, was passed with 58 votes in favour.
There were 2 votes against and 2 abstentions.

The Committee Report on the Bill was presented to the Majlis floor by Chair of the Committee on National Security, Ibrahim Riza, MP for Guraidhoo. The Bill was sent for Committee review on 28 August 2014, at the Thirtieth Sitting of the Second Session of the Majlis.
The First Reading of the Bill was held on 13 August 2014 at the Twenty Third Sitting of the Second Session.
