An official delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Abdullah A. Al-Obaid, called on Ambassador-at-Large Mr. Ahmed Mohamed, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed welcomed the delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries especially in the areas of trade and investment. He also expressed the appreciation of the Government of Maldives for the continued assistance and cooperation from Saudi Arabia to the Maldives over the years.
The Saudi delegation expressed their keenness to explore investment opportunities in the Maldives and to work with the Government of Maldives in different areas for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Ambassador Mohamed was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Fathimath Inaya, Additional Secretary, Dr. Hussain Niyaaz, Additional Secretary, Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Saudi delegation comprises of senior officials from different sectors of the Saudi Government as well as prominent business officials. The purpose of the visit is to discuss with the Government of Maldives ways of further developing the close relationships between the two countries in the fields of trade and investment.
