Keyodhoo constituency MP Moosa Nizar has said that it is very saddening that the national spirit is very weak in the society today.
Sheikh Moosa Nizar said that this is a big challenge faced by the society and efforts should be made to resolve this problem.
He said that nationalistic spirit should be strengthened during childhood and a strong foundation should be established.
“In school we should teach our students upright moral characters. They should be informed of the reality behind the national day and the sacrifices of the heroes of the Maldives,” he said.
Sheikh Moosa Nizar said that this should be fostered not only in school but also in island level.
He noted that bad characteristics is quiet common today. He said that it is also saddening that he was informed that many Maldivians have been migrating to foreign countries.
