Maldivian Defence Minister Mariya Didi has met with the Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Mariya Didi tweeted today saying that she met with the Indian Defence Minister and spoke about strengthening defence cooperation between the two nations, protecting the borders from illicit drugs and poaching in the EEZ of India and Maldives.
This is Defence Minister Mariya’s first visit abroad after assuming the position. The minister will return to Maldives on 30th of this month.
The minister is accompanied by Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdullah Shamal, General Abdul Matheen Ahmed and Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Saleem.
