Defence Minister Mariya Didi has departed to India on an official visit. The minister was accompanied by Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdullah Shamaal.
The minister will hold meetings with Indian Defence Minister and will hold discussions on strengthening the military relations between the two countries.
According to the India media, India will propose to install radar systems in the Maldives.
The minister and the chief of defence force were accompanied by Colonel Abdul Matheen Ahmed and Colonel Mohammed Saleem.
