President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that the results will be better if a different model is introduced and used to govern the constituencies of Maldives.
President Yameen made this remark speaking at the ceremony held in Raa Atoll Ungoofaru to open the new complex of the island hospital.
He said that even the people will feel the difference of the governing system adopted by the government.
“Even in the past different governments have made different efforts. However, we believe that much good could have been done. And they could have done better. The results will be better if a new governing system is adopted,” he said.
In addition to this, President noted that the Health Ministry is now managed by the Defence Minister Nazim. He said that both the ministry have been producing good results regardless of that because the ministry is making true and hard efforts and by allocating the rightful people for various posts.
“It is not difficult for him to manage the ordering of medical equipment and manage the stock in the inventory. The hospitals and health centres, the managers there will make the inventory and order requests as per the inventories,” he said.
Furthermore, the President assured that there will be a gynecologist in every atoll except Vaavu Atoll next year. He said that by the end of 2016 every inhabited island of Maldives will have a STO pharmacy with Aasandha services.
President Yameen said that the government opening pharmacies is not a reason to close down privately owned pharmacies. He requested the people to open more private pharmacies as well.
