Coastguard has handed over the Sri Lankan fishing boat which was caught fishing in the territorial waters of Maldives.
The boat named Oshaadhi 1, was spotted south of Gdh Gahdhoo. The boat has been now taken to Dhoonidhoo.
In a press conference held by MNDF, commander brigadier general Ali Zuhair said that the investigations show that they were fishing illegally and that they did not show any resistance when MNDF tried to apprehend them.
Also according to MNDF, the boat had around 1 ton of fish.
