Qasim Ibrahim has been awarded with the life time achievement award at Maldives Business Awards organized by Balzon Inc.
The award was given to Qasim Ibrahim tonight at the gala night held at Paradise Island Resort. Qasim was given this award to recognize his contribution to the development of business in the Maldives.
Abbas Ibrahim the chief guest of the ceremony handed over the award to Qasim Ibrahim.
Qasim Ibrahim assisted various businesses in the Maldives. He provided loans to businesses himself and provided guarantees to businesses as well. He paid back some of the loans which were guaranteed by him.
In addition, among the thousands of scholarships provided by Qasim, many were in the fields of business. Many students who studied under his scholarships are serving the nation in various fields.
Qasim also made a world record by having an own airline and an airport as well. Furthermore, he has helped the Maldivian people in various ways as well. Way before the government introduced universal healthcare, Qasim has been helping people for their medical treatments.
Even thought there are wealthier people in the Maldives, Qasim has helped Maldivians more than anyone else.
He was also filled the position of finance minister during President Maumoon’s administration and presided over the parliament which drafted the constitution. In addition, he was also the governor of MMA. Even now he is the speaker of the parliament and leader of JP, one of the largest parties in the Maldives.
