Parliament has passed the bill on removing taxes on inputs in the agricultural sector. The parliament voted to accept the bill as it was passed by the committee.
The amendment to the export/import legislation states that all input products in the agricultural sector will be tax free. In addition, all materials needed to comply with export regulations should also be tax free.
The amendment was submitted to the parliament by MP Shareef of Maradhoo constituency. Shareef said that the purpose of the bill is to expand the economy and to enable people to start farming.
Cutting tariffs of inputs of the agricultural sector is among the 100 day goals of President Solih.
