Defense Minister Mariya Didi have said that the Indian army will not have to make a military base in the Maldives if they want to spy in Maldives.
“In this age, people do not spy by sending military to an island” said Mariya.
So far, the Indian government has not revealed about creating a military base in the Maldives. However some Indian newspapers have been quoting government officials saying that India offered 1 billion dollars to the Maldives in exchange for a military base in the Maldives.
