Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Moosa Manik have said that, the parliament is planning to invite more than 11,000 people to the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Ibrahim Mohammed Solih.
Speaking to the press, Moosa Manik said that this will be the 50th anniversary of the second republic of Maldives and hence the speaker of the parliament Qasim Ibrahim wants to make the event as colorful as possible.
Moosa Manik said that, after inviting everyone necessary, the remaining slots will be allocated to political parties. “Like in the past, we will invite all state dignitaries and foreign dignitaries as well” said Moosa.
Moosa said that since this is the inauguration ceremony of the president, Qasim Ibrahim wants the ceremony to be as colorful as possible and as many people as possible to take part in the ceremony.
“Even the parliament members want that. We would like everyone to use national flags to celebrate the republic day and do other relevant celebratory activities” said Moosa.
