Chief Justice Ahmed Faiz has said that the people should think about their constitutional life instead of thinking about the loss of the position of a certain person.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Ahmed Faiz said that the people in high positions always change and there is nothing to worry about regarding these changes.
“A person is not set in stone to be in a certain position permanently,” he said.
Faiz said that the concern should be regarding how much of the constitution is upheld and whether constitution is being revered and implemented.
“Is the fate of the new constitution the same as the 1932 constitution?,” he asked.
Ahmed Faiz said that the three powers of the state are clearly defined and divided in the constitution however today we should be asking whether this is practically implemented in the Maldives.
He said that prayers should be made for the well being of the Maldivian nation. “No individual is important as an individual. However, the nation is important to all,” he said.
