MP for Thoddoo constituency, Ibrahim Hassan said that he voted in favour of the government’s position in the vote taken yesterday in the Peoples’ Majlis regarding the removal of the Supreme Court judges, Chief Justice Ahmed Faiz and Judge Mutasim Adnan, to see how much rectification is brought to the judiciary.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Ibrahim Hassans aid that there is much to be done to rectify the Judiciary and this is agreed by all major parties. He said that this rectification can be brought by cooperating with the government in it.
“First a sufficient budget should be allocated. Budget should not be withheld and no pressures should be made. Works space and means should be provided. Staffs should be given. Training and education should be provided. We should aid the government in this,” he said.
Ibrahim Hassan said that all parties note the major issues in the judiciary and the government has also been agreeing that these problems does exist in the judiciary.
“Three president’s have come with these same problems. However we do not see any changes they brought. Things are going for the worse each passing year. More challenges are faced. Therefore, I voted in favour of the government’s decision in today’s vote. The people will see great changes in the judiciary. The people are witnessing this,” he said.
