Commanding officer of INS Deepak, JPS Sobti has said that he and the crew are very happy that they got the opportunity to help the people of Maldives in the time of crisis.
In a special interview to Miadhu Daily, Commander Sobti said that he has made new friends during his time in Maldives and he expressed hopes that the relationship will continue in the years to come.
He said that all have been very hospitable to him and his crew in Maldives. He said that they have met the people of Maldives and they are departing from Maldives with good memories.
“All the crew are very glad to have got the opportunity to help the people of Maldives in the time of crisis,” he said.
Officer Sobti also said that he is very happy that India was able to produce water supply to alleviate the water shortage faced by the people living in Male’ as the capital's main water treatment plant was damaged in a fire.
Sobti expressed his gratitude to the government of Maldives and also the India High Commissioner Rajeev Sahare and all of the officials of the Indian High Commission.
