Indian High Commissioner Rajeev Sahare has offered his gratitude to the Indian navy ship, INS Deepak for providing water supply to Maldives during the recent water crisis faced by the people living in the capital Male’ following a fire in the only desalination plant in the island.
Indian High Commissioner yesterday visited the vessel and presented a memento to the officers and crew of INS Deepak for their timely service in alleviating the water crisis.
He said that INS Deepak supplied 1250 tonnes of fresh water on the first day and up until yesterday it has supplied about 1850 tonnes.
The High Commissioner thanked the crew of the vessel for their timely help to Maldives during the water crisis.
Minister of Defence Nazim also presented a plaque presented to the officers and crew of INS Deepak for their timely service in alleviating the water crisis.
