MWSC’s desalination plant panel boards brought to Maldives
MWSC has received panel boards from abroad to replace the panel boards of the desalination plant of the company following the damages to them due to the fire.

The panel boards were brought to Maldives by Sri Lankan military aircraft on Thursday.

They were initially scheduled to arrive at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, but was delayed due to technical difficulties.

According to the President’s Office, five panel boards had already been repaired; while the task force stated that with the installation of the two new boards, the other plants can function once again.

During Wednesday night’s press conference held by the task force, Defense Minister - Mohamed Nazim stated it would take around six hours to install the panel boards, while water provision to the city will be greatly boosted in about 24 hours.

“With that, it will provide a massive relief to the water shortage situation,” he added.

Nazim explained that all expenses on purchasing the panel boards are made by the MWSC’s budget, while the government contributed in arranging a flight to transport the panel boards.
