AG underscores importance of modern laws to fight corruption

Attorney General Mohamed Anil has underscored the importance of introducing modern laws to fight and eradicate corruption from the nation.

Attorney General Anil made this remark in his statement on the occasion of the international Anti-Corruption Day. He said that no one should feel reluctant or hesitant to report corruption and no one should fear that they might lose their job or job promotion.

Anil noted that the notion that the fighting corruption is the responsibility of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is wrong and rather it is the responsibility of all people.

He said that some people believe that corruption only causes damages to those involved but in fact it cause damages to the whole nation.

Attorney General called all to extend cooperation to fight corruption.
