President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that it is a great happiness to have got the opportunity to lay the foundation of additional 1500 housing units in Hulhumale’ and hopefully 50000 housing units will be constructed in Hulhumale’ making it the “Dream City”.
The president made this remark speaking at the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Housing Project of the Maldives-Phase II under Chinese Soft Loan.
President said that the project will be completed within one and half years. He expressed hopes to lay the foundation of more projects before that.
President Yameen said that the CMEC asked for more such opportunities in Maldives. The President reiterated that the main priority of the government is to provide affordable housing to the people and if there are no opportunities for housing projects then there will be no opportunity for anything else.
