A Chinese military aircraft and a military vessel carrying water to help the people of Maldives during the water crisis have reached Maldives last night.
The aircraft came carrying 40 Tonnes of water, which has been handed over by the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldivian government at a special ceremony held in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.
The Chinese vessel is carrying 600 tonnes of fresh water also reached Maldives last night. The ceremony to hand over the water will be held today morning.
This vessel will be docked in Maldives to create water from its desalination plant to the people living in Male’ until the water crisis is resolved.
China has also been sending fresh water bottles from commercial flights to Maldives.
China has also donated $500,000 for the restoration of the panel boards which were burned down during the fire, and to fix other damages as well.
