There are no concerns while a civil servant gets MVR 4800 and an MP gets MVR 62000- Evila
Thoddoo constituency MP, Ibrahim Hassan has said that the members of the Peoples’ Majlis have been showing no concern or worries regarding the fact that the basic salary of the civil servant remains MVR 4800 while the basic salary of the MPs are MVR 62000.

Ibrahim Hassan said that he calls the authorities to increase the salary of the civil servants as much as the government can and the civil servant’s basic salary should be enough for him or her to cope with basic needs without having to beg.

“I also believe that all employees in every position will have the same aim. That is to develop the Maldivian nation. It changes when the disposition and desires is given precedence over it. Therefore, when three lakh fifty thousand ruffiya are connected to the hopes of the people and when we are trying to finish such a big financial transaction we should assure that our feedback is worthwhile and constructive and is for the sake of the people,” he said.

Ibrahim Hassan also called to make sure that the 24.3 billion Ruffiya budget is free from any opportunities to corruption.
